The brief was to design the layout for the finalist display boards at the 2012 New Zealand Best Design Awards. Restricted to 32 boards, with very specific rules around the arrangement of disciplines and categories, we had over 330 entries to organise into a cohesive, well designed display for the industry to view in the foyer before the awards.
Teaming up with my fellow classmate Gabi Lardies, we designed the flexible grid system, selected and oversaw a team of designers with the data input, as well as co-ordinating with the AUT product design department and overseeing the installation. This was the first year the display was done in this way, after the main night the display went on tour nationwide. Overall the displays design was a huge success and has been used every year subsequently.
